Bonita the Dog:

On October 7, Hamas terrorists recorded the despicable crimes they committed in the Gaza Envelope communities, and many of us remember the video where Bonita, the dog, was shot to death by the terrorists. Bonita served as a K-9 unit dog with the Israel Police. Aviad Cohen, a police bomb disposal expert, adopted her when she completed her service, and she lived with the Cohen family in Kibbutz Sufa. On October 7, Bonita heard the sounds of explosions and gunfire, and immediately ran outside the house, where the terrorists shot her at point-blank range. The terrorists bypassed the house she had come from, thus saving the Cohen family.

Taiga the Dog:

Taiga, a dog who served in the Oketz unit, was killed during a confrontation between IDF forces and terrorists in the northern Gaza Strip. The dog, who had previously led fighting forces on several occasions, was sent to locate terrorists in a building in the Strip. During the search, terrorists in the building fired at him and killed him. Taiga saved the lives of the soldiers present and the terrorists were eliminated immediately after.

Gandhi the Dog:

Gandhi was an attack dog who, during the fighting in Gaza, was sent to search a three-story suspicious building. While the Golani Brigade soldiers cleared the first two floors, Gandhi noticed something unusual on the third floor and uncovered a terrorist cell that killed him on the spot. Immediately afterward, the Golani Brigade force eliminated the terrorist cell, and no soldiers were injured.

Naro the Dog:

During the massacre on October 7, the dog Naro joined a unit from Flotilla 13 operating in Kibbutz Kfar Aza. He successfully uncovered an ambush by two terrorists hiding in one of the kibbutz’s houses, and the soldiers eliminated them immediately after. During the encounter, Naro was killed, and his body was brought back to the unit for burial.

Cheetah the Dog:

Cheetah, who is considered a champion in her unit for detecting explosives and participated in many operations during the fighting in Gaza, was sent to search a building in Khan Younis. Within seconds, a powerful explosives site was activated in the building, and she was killed on the spot. Due to the massive explosion, soldiers present were injured when the building’s walls collapsed on them, but their lives were saved thanks to Cheetah’s detection.
