Escalation In The Middle East
US to Israel: Leave the Houthis to us, stay out of it
The United States has also moved more of its heavy strategic bombers into the region, outside the range of drones, with the aim of strengthening its strike capability against Yemen and perhaps also Iran.

While it increases the number of its strategic bombers in the region, the United States has reportedly told Israel to hold back on hitting the Houthis for firing missiles at Israel, according to a report today (Thursday) by Itay Blumenthal.
The United States under President Donald Trump has been reinforcing its strategic bombers in the region with B-52 and B-2 planes, both of which are capable of carrying a variety of heavy ordnance, including bunker-busting and even nuclear weapons. The planes are being landed in bases considered to be out of offensive drone range.
America has been relentlessly bombing Houthi targets - including not only strategic targets such as ports and missile sites but also senior Houthi commanders, some of whom were eliminated thanks to Israeli intelligence - for the past several days.
It has insisted that the strikes are about retaliating against Houthi attacks on American civilian and military ships since October 7, thus portraying it as an act of national self-defense rather than being involved in foreign wars in one way or another or helping allies.
America has thus sent a clear message to Israel to not get involved in the strikes against the Houthis, despite the multiple missile attacks from Yemen which have alarmed millions of Israelis and kept the country on edge.
