Blessed is the True Judge. The Boyan Hasidic community mourns - a righteous man has been lost from the earth. Last night (Saturday night - Shushan Purim), Rabbi Shlomo Eliezer Luberbom of blessed memory passed away. He was among the elders and distinguished Hasidim of Boyan, owner of the restaurant "Delicacies of Geula" - Luberbom at "Kikar HaShabbat," and was 86 years old at his passing.

Rabbi Shlomo of blessed memory was born on the 19th of Elul 5698 (1938) to his father, Rabbi Yitzchak Luberbom of blessed memory.

Reb Shloyme, as he was affectionately called by Hasidim and all his acquaintances, was the patriarch of the extensive, respected, and distinguished Luberbom family in the holy city of Jerusalem. He was among the pure-minded in the beautiful city, one of the dear and important householders known in the holy court of Boyan. He departed this world with a good name, full of accomplishments and great deeds, noble of soul and beloved by the public, with truth and integrity as his guiding lights.

For an extended period, he was considered one of the best-known symbols of integrity - veteran, generous, and highly respected in the commercial complex and culinary landscape of the Geula neighborhood, in the heart of Haredi Jerusalem. His was a popular restaurant with classic Jewish foods from the best of Ashkenazi Jewish cuisine - which he managed professionally and with characteristic exemplary modesty.

His small and modest shop selling Shabbat delicacies, located near "Kikar HaShabbat," was a sought-after culinary destination for decades - and not just for the Haredi and Hasidic public. Thanks to his personal merit and his noble qualities, its good reputation spread far and wide, also reaching different and additional customer audiences from among the various residents of Jerusalem and its visitors.

With his passing, Haredi Jerusalem has lost a precious, illuminating stone - a Hasidic exemplar with a shining countenance, vibrant and authentic, who with his ten fingers established and succeeded in building an exemplary honest business, and all his days enjoyed honestly the fruits of his labor. It is a pity for those who are lost and cannot be replaced.

Alongside all his business endeavors, he was devoted heart and soul to the Rebbes of the Boyan dynasty, as well as to the current Rebbe (may he enjoy long and good days). For an extended period of several years, he was even the Rebbe's personal driver. The deceased was also among the great community organizers of the large Lag B'Omer lighting ceremony in Meron.

Reb Shlomo leaves behind a blessed generation of upright descendants: his firstborn son Abraham, who manages the restaurant today, and his sons Chaim, Yaakov, and David, and his son-in-law Rabbi Yaakov Deutsch.

His funeral will depart this morning (Sunday - "Triple Purim") at 9:00 from the Shamgar funeral home and will pass through the Great Kloiz of Boyan on Malchei Yisrael Street on the way to Har HaMenuchot in Jerusalem.

May his soul be bound in the bond of eternal life.
