Jeff Bezos takes top spot on Bloomberg's Billionaires Index, knocking Elon Musk to second place

Meanwhile, Bernard Arnault, who had previously defeated Musk for the top spot, is now ranked the third wealthiest person in the world.

Amazon owner Jeff Bezos is now the richest man in the world according to Bloomberg's Billionaire Index, a daily ranking of the world's richest people, with a net worth of $200 billion.

Bezos thus beats out the previous champion Elon Musk, owner of Tesla and X/Twitter, who now occupies second place with a net worth of $198 billion.

Bernard Arnault, owner of Louis Vuitton, the world's largest luxury goods company, is close behind him with $197 billion in total net worth.
