After 14 months of fighting, the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon went into effect at 4:00 a.m.
Despite the IDF's warnings to the residents of southern Lebanon not to return to the evacuated villages, many did indeed return:
The IDF issued a statement: "Do not move in the direction of the evacuated villages or in the direction of the forces. We will update you on the safe time to return to your homes."
Unexpectedly, Hezbollah did not fire a salvo of honor, while the IDF ended the war with 200 attacks in Lebanon.
However, at 1:00 a.m., just three hours before the cease-fire went into effect, a Hezbollah drone exploded in the Lower Galilee area. There was damage, but no casualties were recorded in the incident. No sirens were activated following the infiltration of the drone, and the IDF said that the incident is being investigated.
The Merom HaGalil Regional Council said: "After an up-to-date assessment of the situation and the entry into force of the ceasefire, it was decided that all schools in the Merom HaGalil Regional Council that have access to a standard protected space during the defense will operate today."
