Released for Publication: Ori Ashkenazi Nehemia from Ashkelon Killed in Gaza

It has been released for publication that Ori Ashkenazi Nehemia, a 19-year-old from Ashkelon, was killed in combat after being hit by an anti-tank missile in Rafah. He is the third IDF casualty to fall in the past week.

The IDF spokesperson has released the name of another fallen soldier, whose family has been notified: Ori Ashkenazi Nehemia, 19, from Ashkelon, who fell in battle in southern Gaza. Ori was a tank fighter in the 46th Battalion of the Iron Tracks Brigade (401). According to reports, Nehemia was killed by an anti-tank missile in Rafah, after a terrorist apparently emerged from a tunnel and fired at the troops. According to the IDF, Ori was promoted from Corporal to Sergeant Major posthumously.

The number of IDF casualties since the beginning of Operation "Iron Swords" on October 7 now stands at 695, including 331 who fell during the ground operation in the Gaza Strip. May their memory be blessed. Ori Ashkenazi Nehemia is the third casualty to fall in the past week. On Monday, it was released for publication that Shachar Ben Nun, a team commander in the Paratroopers Brigade, was killed in combat in southern Gaza. The soldier died as a result of damage to a structure he was in, caused by faulty ammunition from a fighter jet that deviated several meters and missed its intended target.

A few hours earlier, it was reported that Rn"g Mahmoud Amariyeh, 45, a security guard, fell in combat in the north following a UAV strike on the settlement of Yaarah. Amariyeh was a tracker in the Bnei Beraam Brigade (300), Border Defense Force.
