Despite growing optimism among Israeli sources involved in the ceasefire negotiations in the north, one source speaking to Israel Hayom said that it is ultimately all up to Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenei, who has the final say on whether Hezbollah agrees.

Israeli sources are reportedly increasingly optimistic on a possible deal with Hezbollah and Lebanon which would end the fighting on terms they consider favorable to Israel, and the main debate revolves around when and why Israel would be able to intervene against violations of the agreement.

According to the sources, US Envoy Amos Hochstein presented Lebanon and thus also Hezbollah with an ultimatum they appear to be taking seriously, though the ultimate decision will be taken in Tehran.

Meanwhile, the IDF continues to strike targets throughout Lebanon from the air and is working to root out terrorists and destroy weaponry and tunnels being discovered in almost every village in southern Lebanon.
