American media reports that there is a significant attempt to extend the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip by at least 4 more days, in order to ensure the release of all the children and women.
According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, the negotiating teams continue to conduct talks during the current ceasefire, and hope to ensure the continuation of the ceasefire for at least four more days beyond Tuesday as planned, thus ensuring the release of 40-50 additional hostages.
The contacts come against the background of the negotiators' desire to secure the release of all the women and children held captive by Hamas before the fighting continues, moreover, up to this point Hamas has not released the American citizens who were included in the release list in the original deal, something that worries the White House, who would like to ensure the release of the hostages who hold American citizenship.
