The Saudi television network "Al-Hadad" reported today (Tuesday) that a Revolutionary Guards' communications officer was killed tonight in an attack in the Deir ez-Zur neighborhood in Syria. The attack also killed two more Iranian citizens and 9 Iraqis, all believed to be members of pro-Iranian militias in the country.

According to the report, the Iranian official was killed a few hours after arriving in the Damascus area in a transport plane along with several members of the Revolutionary Guards. Earlier today it was reported that the plane brought logistics equipment, communication equipment and cameras, which were taken in a truck to an unknown location.

At the same time, the Syrian research center "Nors" reported that Iranian military adviser Bahroz Vahdi was killed and two other advisers wounded in the airstrike. The Syrian Institute attributed the attack to the US military, despite the fact that an American military official denied the claim this morning and told Al Jazeera that there were no American attacks in the area. As a result, officials at the Syrian Center for Human Rights now believe that Israel is behind the strike in Deir ez-Zur and perhaps some of the others.
