In an interview with Kan, Curtis Sliwa, a Republican candidate for New York City Mayor, expressed his belief that antisemitism is ingrained in those who are non-Jewish, admitting that he, too, struggles with containing such views on occasion.
During a rally to show support for presidential candidate Donald Trump, Sliwa expressed, "I often remind the Jewish community - as a Gentile, it is ingrained in our very essence. "
He further added, "You must realize that we have a tendency to point fingers at the Jewish people, regardless of the circumstances or peace treaties that are reached. They will always harbor animosity towards you. That's how things are in America and similarly in other locations. I occasionally need to restrain myself, and I have two Jewish children," he stated.
The Republican candidate's shocking comments were made just two days ahead of the US elections.
Nevertheless, things are no different when it comes to the Democratic side.
Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis uncovered that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is stalling multiple bills, all designed to combat anti-Semitism on college campuses. Schumer has recently come under a lot of scrutiny for not effectively addressing instances of anti-Semitic sentiment on college campuses across the United States.
The harsh reality is that Anti-Semitism exists on all sides and has a growing prescence even in US politics, especially with the US elections just around the corner.
