The IDF confirms that Air Force fighter jets attacked today in Damascus, the capital of Syria, infrastructure and assets of the intelligence headquarters of the terrorist organization Hezbollah. The IDF stated that such terror operations were "Endangering the safety of Syrian citizens."

The Intelligence Headquarters is the central intelligence body in Hezbollah responsible for building the organization's intelligence picture, leading the direction of intelligence activities within the organization, and centralizing collection and detection capabilities.

The head of the intelligence staff was assassinated a month ago in Dahieh, Beirut:

Hezbollah's intelligence headquarters operates a branch in Syria, which includes a collection and assessment network. The unit operates independently and under the direct guidance of the head of Hezbollah's intelligence, Hussein Ali Zaimah, who was eliminated in Beirut about a month ago. In the attack in the Dahieh area of Beirut, where Ashraf Tafi Al-Din and Hussein Ali Zaimah were eliminated, Mahmoud Mohammed Shaheen, the head of Hezbollah's intelligence headquarters in Syria, was also killed.

Mahmoud Mohammed Shaheen held a series of positions in Hezbollah, and in the intelligence headquarters, he took on the role of head of the headquarters in Syria in 2007. Over the years, he gained experience and established close working relationships with the Syrian regime and Iranian axis elements. In his role, he led processes of building and deploying force in the fields of intelligence and air defense in collaboration with various axis elements. Mahmoud Mohammed Shaheen was a significant figure in the axis cooperation, and his elimination constitutes an additional blow to Hezbollah's intelligence capabilities.

The intelligence headquarters suffered a severe blow in Lebanon:

The IDF significantly damaged Hezbollah's intelligence headquarters, destroyed assets of Hezbollah's military intelligence headquarters in Lebanon, and impacted the organization's capabilities and information gathering. The attack on the military intelligence assets in Syria joins the strikes in Lebanon, targeting the intelligence capabilities of the terrorist organization Hezbollah.

The IDF spokesperson stated that "Hezbollah, with the support of the Syrian regime, endangers the safety of the Syrian citizens by establishing command posts and forces in civilian areas within the country."
