Alarms sounded in large areas of central Israel following launches from the Gaza Strip on the anniversary of the October 7 massacre. Hamas claimed responsibility.
The IDF Spokesperson reported that five launches had been identified that crossed from the Khan Yunis area. The al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas' military-terrorist wing, claimed responsibility for launching rocket fire at central cities, a year after the surprise attack. "We shot into the heart of Israel, at Tel Aviv. We launched a barrage of M90 rockets as part of the ongoing battle of attrition and in response to the Zionist massacres of civilians and the deliberate displacement of our people," the terror group said in a statement.
In parallel to the alarms that were activated in the Galilee finger, alerts were heard in Rishon LeZion, Holon, Kfar Chabad, Mikve Israel, Bat Yam, Azor, Tel Aviv, Gedera, Kidron, Hatsev, Bnei Ayesh, Tzafriya, Ram Industrial Park and Kanot Industrial Zone.
Magen David Adom (MDA) reported that two 30-year-old women were injured by shrapnel in Kfar Chabad and evacuated to Shamir Hospital in Be'er Yaakov. In addition, MDA teams provided medical treatment to a number of people who sustained minor injuries on their way to the protected area and suffered from anxiety.
