Sirens blared early Friday morning at around 12:40 a.m. across Gush Dan, the Shfela, and Sharon regions as a missile launched from Yemen was detected. Residents were jolted awake by warning sirens, followed by loud explosions.

The IDF Spokesperson's Unit confirmed that the missile was successfully intercepted by the Arrow Aerial Defense System, and the resulting blasts were caused by falling shrapnel from the mid-air destruction.

Magen David Adom reported no direct injuries from the missile attack, though several people were treated for shock and minor injuries sustained while rushing to shelters.

The missile launch occurred just hours after Hezbollah confirmed the death of Muhammad Hussein Srour, the commander of its aerial unit, who was killed in an IDF strike in Beirut’s Dahieh neighborhood. Srour, a senior Hezbollah figure, was known to have previously served as a military adviser to the Houthi rebels in Yemen.

This latest escalation follows a similar incident two weeks ago, when a Houthi-fired missile targeted central Israel and was only “partially” intercepted, with part of its warhead detonating near Ben Gurion Airport.
