One man was wounded, and fires erupted after approximately 50 rockets and missiles were launched from Lebanon into northern Israel on Wednesday morning. The IDF, Police, and MDA confirmed that while some of the projectiles were intercepted, several landed in the town of Katzrin in the Golan Heights.
Later on Wednesday, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack, stating through Al-Manar that the Katyusha rockets were fired into the Golan in retaliation for IAF strikes on the Bekaa region overnight.
Drone sirens blared across northern Israel throughout the morning, with alerts sounding in areas east of Mount Meron and around Katzrin in the Golan.
The IDF later clarified that the sirens in the Upper Galilee, which were triggered by a suspected hostile aircraft infiltration, were the result of a false identification. Following the sirens in Katzrin, MDA reported that its emergency teams were dispatched to the sites of the reported strikes. They later confirmed that a 30-year-old man had sustained shrapnel wounds and was transported to Ziv Hospital for treatment, while two others were treated for anxiety.
