Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, today (Thursday) held a situation assessment in Division 252, the reserve division operating in the northern Gaza Strip for the elimination of Hamas terrorists and the destruction of terrorist infrastructure. Minister Gallant expressed his appreciation for the operational activity and the functioning of the division, its commanders and fighters when he told the reservists: "There is no person in the country who does not understand today why we need the reserve system."
Gallant to the reservists: "It should be remembered that in the Beit Hanoun sector is the battalion from which the terrorists came to murder and kidnap in Kibbutz Erez, in Nativ HaAsara and Sderot. The battle has significance first of all in the symbolic aspect. We need to move Beit Hanoun to a state where all the terrorist infrastructure is destroyed. We are not stopping, we are going full force until we eradicate the Hamas organization - damaging the entire command, chain of command and control, weaponry warehouses, means of communication and tunnels, bunkers and headquarters, eliminating everything.
"The answer to this brutal and barbaric act is to wipe out Hamas. From there we will move on. If we don't wipe out Hamas in Gaza, we will get ten more of them coming from other places. At the end of 2023, there is not a person in the country who does not understand why the reserve system is necessary. I remember myself at the beginning of my position - Less than a year ago, there were many who asked what this was needed for. We tried to explain to them, we gave all the benefits to the reservists both before and during the war.
"I see you and I know that everyone has left a family, a home, a business, there is a great motivation among those who are here and those who are in the field. I see many experienced people here. For everyone who asked - why do you train year after year in Tse'elim or in other places? So here is the answer."
