A tragic incident occurred today (Monday) in Jerusalem when a 10-year-old girl was fatally struck by a bus on Shimon HaTzadik Street, near the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in northeast Jerusalem.
MDA (Magen David Adom) emergency teams found the child trapped and unconscious beneath the bus, and despite rescue efforts, were forced to pronounce her death at the scene.
MDA emergency medic Shimon Saltz described the devastating scene: "The girl was trapped under the bus, unconscious and suffering from multi-system trauma. Her injuries were critical, and sadly, we had to pronounce her death at the scene."
In a separate incident earlier this morning, a 50-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured in a vehicle collision on Sultan Suleiman Street. MDA paramedic Rami Baragithi reported that the victim suffered significant head trauma and was rushed to Shaare Zedek Hospital in serious but stable condition.
