Families from the Valor Forum arrived at the Knesset this afternoon, where they began a protest against the introduction of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and against the discussions taking place in the Supreme Court on the subject of humanitarian aid.
Chaim Bernstein, the father of the commander of the Nahal Brigade's elite unit, Lt. Col. Yehonatan, who recently returned from reserve duty in the Gaza Strip, recounted the discussions he witnessed in court: "I was at a High Court hearing yesterday evening, the fifth in number, regarding the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, where state and military representatives stood for cross-examination by organizations and the judges." The representatives of the state tried to say that they are doing everything in their power to maximize and improve the quality of the aid that Israel provides to the Gaza Strip.
Bernstein continued and described the absurdity of feeding Hamas in the current situation: "We have no shred of information about the well-being of our brothers and sisters who are in the Strip. They don't have visits from the Red Cross, there are no orderly signs of life from them, there's not even the knowledge of whether they are alive or, God forbid, dead. We know nothing about them; we are in the dark. On the other hand, we are influencing a lot of good abundance, and I have seen endless convoys of trucks entering at night, I have seen piles of rice bags and flour bags. We do all this despite the fact that our brothers and sisters do not receive a shred of humanitarian aid, and we do not know if a single grain of rice has reached them. I call for pressure to be applied so that on the other side there will not be a shred of oxygen – water, electricity, food, drink, cigarettes, and mango – until we also receive all our brothers and sisters. Let's not be mistaken, this is a cruel enemy that hates everyone. The settlements, the farmers, he hates the kibbutzniks, he hates all of us, and as far as he's concerned, we are all settlers."
Tzorit Penigstein, the mother of Ma'oz HaYad, referred to the discussions that took place today in the Supreme Court and added, "This morning, seven discussions were held in the Supreme Court regarding petitions by terrorists and their supporters against the state. The High Court of Justice does not understand what most of our brave soldiers understand; it does not believe in the righteousness of the path and in common sense. We are fighting not only the enemy, but also a false consciousness that prioritizes our enemy over us and perpetuates the war. This war is the most just."
