Michaeli Vs. Gantz and Lapid

Michaeli vs. Gantz and Lapid: "Behaving like a weather vane"

After Gantz and Lapid responded to the prayer disruptions on Yom Kippur, Michaeli criticized: "There is nothing more disgraceful and shameful than this. The liberal public in Israel deserves a leadership that leads and is not dragged"

The rift in the opposition is widening. The leader of the Labor Party, Knesset member Merav Michaeli, criticized this evening (Wednesday) the leaders of the opposition parties who conducted a u-turn and condemned the Yom Kippur prayer disruptions in Dizengoff Square by protesters.

In a Twitter post, Michaeli expressed words of praise for the group that arrived on Yom Kippur to disrupt and remove the worshippers: "A word of appreciation to the liberal activists who demonstrated outside the missionary activity of the Rosh Yehudi organization in Dizengoff Square: I see the delegitimization campaign they are trying to launch against you, and I want to tell you that you are a group of heroes. You are leading the front in the struggle of the liberal public in Israel.

"Thanks to your activity, the dangerous conspiracy of the religious extremists has been exposed. Their attempt to take over the liberal cities has been revealed, using the same steps and methods they used to control the mixed cities and neighborhoods that Likud has abandoned and promised to revive for years. The day will come, and the entire liberal public will thank you."

After the greetings, she turned to visit her opposition colleagues who, after endorsing the activists, realized their mistake – partly due to a survey that was published, showing public opposition to the protest – and condemned the attack: "As for the politicians who act like a weather vane and change their stance according to the polls – there is nothing more disgraceful and shameful than that. The liberal public in Israel deserves a leading leadership and not a dragged one."
