A senior Hamas official told Agence France-Presse on Wednesday that following the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah, the terror organization is ready for a cease-fire in Gaza as well.
These remarks came a few hours after the ceasefire in Lebanon went into effect at 4 a.m. (Israel time), and since then quiet has been maintained. The Israeli Air Force attacked terrorist targets in the Lebanese capital Beirut overnight, minutes before the ceasefire agreement went into effect.
At the same time, the IDF Spokesperson in Arabic, Col. Avichai Edrei, addressed the residents of southern Lebanon and warned that the residents were forbidden to return to the villages that the IDF wanted to evacuate and that they would be informed when it would be safe to return.
Meanwhile, during the night, Israeli Air Force aircraft, under the direction of intelligence from Military Intelligence, the Shin Bet and the Southern Command, attacked terrorist Maman al-Jaabari, a senior sniper in the Gaza City Brigade of the Hamas terror organization, who operated in a room inside a building that used to be the Al-Tabe'in school.
