Josep Borrell, the EU's foreign affairs chief, is expected to put a proposal on the agenda of EU foreign ministers on Monday to suspend political dialogue with Israel over the war in the Gaza Strip.
Borrell's move, which has been highly critical of Israel since the start of the war, came after "a year of begging the Israeli government to comply with international law during the war in Gaza."
In addition, the EU's foreign affairs chief added that he wanted to ban the import of goods produced in the settlements of Judea and Samaria into EU countries. Borrell made it clear that he wanted to raise this issue for discussion by the Council of Foreign Ministers in October and talk about the war in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.
