Central Israel and north under fire as rockets launched from Lebanon 

More than 80 barrages were launched at Sharon and the Galilee; direct hit in Petah Tikva - 4 people were lightly injured and 1 moderately injured

Sirens were activated today (Sunday) in a large number of communities in the center of the country, in the area of Gush Dan, the Yarkon and the Sharon. The IDF has updated that 8 rockets were fired from Lebanese territory, some of which were intercepted.

Hits were identified in Petah Tikva where 4 people were lightly injured and 1 was moderately injured.

The IDF stated, "Initial report - Sirens sounded in a number of areas in central Israel due to projectiles fired from Lebanon into Israeli territory. Details to follow."

Later, the military stated, "Following the sirens that sounded in central Israel, approximately 10 projectiles crossed from Lebanon into Israeli territory. Some of the projectiles were intercepted and several falls were identified."

At the same time, sirens warning of rocket and missile fire were activated in Nahariya and a number of surrounding communities, including Gesher Haziv, Sa'ar, Betzet, Liman, Matzuva, Rosh Hanikra, Shlomi, Ben Ami and Evron. In addition, sirens were also activated in Haifa and Carmel.

The IDF reported that following the launches at the Upper Galilee, the Western Galilee, the Gulf and the Carmel, about 30 rockets were identified that crossed Lebanese territory. Some of them were intercepted, hits were identified.
