Israel-Hezbollah War

Crying uncle: Hezbollah agrees to full implementation of 1701, including withdrawing behind Litani

The organization has also reportedly agreed to delink the fight in Lebanon with the war in Gaza, as well as to the Lebanese Army being in sole control of the Syrian border and the airport.

The Lebanese MTV news network reported today (Wednesday) that Hezbollah has informed the relevant parties, including Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri that the terrorist organization agrees to a 60 day ceasefire and a complete implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701, according to Israel Hayom.

The network also said that Hezbollah is willing to delink a ceasefire in Lebanon from a ceasefire in Gaza, something Hezbollah insisted on until the IDF escalated attacks on the organization, and that it agrees to withdraw its forces behind the Litani River.

An agreement among the various parties in Lebanon has also reportedly been reached, per which the Lebanese Army will have sole responsibility for the Syrian border and Lebanon's airport and ports, presumably to prevent weapons smuggling, including for Hezbollah.

US envoys Amos Hochstein and Brett Mcgurk are slated to arrive in Israel tomorrow to discuss a possible ceasefire deal. Prime Minister Netanyahu has expressed his willingness for such a deal, on condition it ensures northern residents can return safely to their homes, a stated war aim of the government.
