Earlier today (Wednesday), the IDF struck Hezbollah fuel depots deep inside Lebanon in the Baalbek region. The depots were under the responsibility of Unit 4400, Hezbollah's logistics buildup unit.
According to the IDF, Unit 4400 is responsible for weapons and fuel transfer to Hezbollah units from outside and within Lebanon. The fuel reportedly serves to fuel Hezbollah vehicles as well as much of its military infrastructure.
The fuel was reportedly provided by Iran, which pays more than half of Hezbollah's budget, and which is provided via a number of routes into Lebanon for Hezbollah.
According to media reports, one of Israel's conditions for a ceasefire in southern Lebanon is a free hand in interdicting such weapons and fuel supplies across the Syrian-Lebanese border and elsewhere.
