The IDF confirmed today (Saturday) that the strike carried out yesterday in Beirut eliminated not only Ibrahim Aqil, a senior Hezbollah commander and second in command of Fuad Shukr, but also a number of other high-ranking commanders in the terrorist organization.

Aqil himself was not only Shukr's second in command but also a "principal" member in the organization responsible for the murderous suicide attacks against American targets in 1983 according to the US State Department, including the bombing of the Marine Barracks which killed 241 US soldiers.

Among the senior leaders eliminated were Wissam al-Tawil, commander of Hezbollah's elite Radwan force, Abu Hassan Samir, head of Radwan force's training unit, Taleb Abu Abdullah, commander of the Nasser unit, Mohammed Nasser, commander of Hezbollah's Aziz unit, and Abu Ali Rida, commander of the Bader unit.
