The court this morning (Tuesday) convicted the psychotherapist Yariv Cohen, 52 years old from Even Yehuda, of a series of sexual offenses that he committed against ten of his patients, falsely claiming that it was an integral part of the treatment.
Cohen pleaded guilty and was convicted. Between the years 2017-2022, he worked as a therapist in the domain of "physical psychotherapy" - the treatment of crises, mental distress and emotional disorders with the help of talk therapy that combines physical contact techniques. As part of the treatments, he performed sexual acts on ten female patients, and on three of them, he also performed acts of rape and acts of sodomy.
According to the indictment, Cohen used to gain the trust of his patients, had conversations with them of a sexual nature, during which he shared his personal sexual experience and details about the sex lives of other patients. During the treatments, he committed obscene acts while taking advantage of the weaknesses revealed to him during the treatments, all the while claiming thatcont act with these organs was necessary for the treatment.
