Fadi al-Wadiya, a staff member of Doctors Without Borders, was killed in an Israeli drone strike yesterday (Tuesday). The IDF identified al-Wadiya as a key figure in the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), alleging that he was an expert in electronics and chemistry for the terror group.
As reported by the Times of Israel MSF (Doctors without Borders) confirmed on Tuesday morning that al-Wadiya was one of their staffers, expressing shock over his death. The organization reported that he was killed along with five other individuals while he was riding his bicycle to the MSF clinic where he worked. Caroline Seguin, the local operations manager for MSF, described the incident as "cynical and abhorrent."
The IDF issued a statement confirming al-Wadiya's role within Islamic Jihad, stating that he was deeply involved in the development and advancement of the group's missile capabilities.
In a related incident, the IDF reported the death of Wissam Abu Ishaq, a Hamas operative, in another drone strike in the southern Gaza Strip. According to the IDF, Abu Ishaq was involved in smuggling arms to Hamas through the Rafah border crossing and underground tunnels from Egypt.
The IDF's recent operations in Gaza have included strikes on multiple targets, including booby-trapped buildings, terror group facilities, tunnels, and armed cells. These actions are part of an ongoing effort to curb the capabilities of militant groups operating in the region.
