Cat. Roi Beit Yaakov was killed, along with 4 other brothers-in-arms, by friendly fire in a battle in northern Gaza’s Jabaliya neighborhood. Yesterday (Tuesday), Roi's father, Avidan, met with fighters who were involved in the tragic incident.

On his Facebook account, Avidan described the meeting with the fighters. "We met today with the armored corp members involved in the friendly fire incident in which Roi and his soldiers were killed. The salt of the land! Wonderful warriors!" Avidan began.

"How much courage is needed on the battlefield; but how much more courage is needed to meet the parents of those who were killed in such an event," the father continued. I fought with the company commander in Khan Yunis. I know who he is. Roy wrote about him on WhatsApp two days before he was killed: 'In my opinion, he's the best company commader we've had."

"We were happy to meet them and they were happy to come. That's the only way we will win. Let us be happy for each other, even in such a difficult reality in which we are responsible for failures and mistakes. This is how we take responsibility. We don't leave in the middle of a war - we look straight at reality, maybe shed a tear. We gather the courage and look into each other's eyes," he added.
