The religious journalist and author, Shaul Maizlish, today presented an unusual proposal according to which 30 adults will replace the 30 children and babies held captive by Hamas.
In an interview with Benny Teitelbaum's show on radio 'Moreshet', Maizlish said that he received approval from his family members for the initiative: "Out of 240, almost 30 people are children, some of them are babies and they continue to be there in indescribable suffering with physical and mental harm that will reverberate throughout their lives. Every day their lives at risk."
Maizlish suggested: "I thought it might be possible to make an exchange deal; to bring 30 older people who have already done something in their lives and exchange with the children. This is something that had precedents in World War II with the Nazis, may their names be erased, and really the children were saved by the skin of their teeth from hell and from these evil spirits who were around them."
For the success of the initiative, "we need to reach 30 people to go out there, I think there is no mitzvah like the mitzvah of ransoming captives in Judaism. There is no higher mutual guarantee than that, you cannot stand against it."
