Tension in the North: An IDF spokesperson has now confirmed (on Monday) that a report has been received regarding the infiltration of several suspects into Israeli territory from Lebanese territory. According to initial reports, four suspects were identified in the area of Admit, on the western side of the border with Lebanon, which falls under the responsibility of Division 300.

After a few minutes, it was reported that the IDF fired artillery at the area where the terrorists were identified, after they surrounded them and began firing shells. Later it was said that two of the terrorists were eliminated, and one of them apparently returned to Lebanese territory. The IDF forces are now pursuing the fourth terrorist.

An IDF spokesperson stated that the forces "killed a number of armed men who crossed into Israeli territory from Lebanese territory. The fighters continue scanning the area. Also, combat helicopters are now attacking in the area."

The current report comes about an hour after a red alert siren was heard in the communities of Ramot Naftali and Yiftah on the northern border. Following the alert, residents of Kiryat Shmona were instructed to enter protected areas until further notice.

According to sources in Lebanon, between 12 to 15 rockets were fired towards Israel. However, according to the IDF, only one rocket has been identified as crossing the border and landing in an open area. At this stage, there are no reports of casualties or damage.

Last night, reports emerged of mortar shells fired at positions on Mount Dov, with no reported casualties there as well. These incidents appear to be attempts by Lebanese factions to open a second front in the north, but so far without success. The Americans have sent aircraft carriers to the region and have threatened Hezbollah with actions if they act against Israel.
