The Nobel Prize in Chemistry will be awarded today (Wednesday) to the three scientists Moungi G. Bawendi, Louis E. Brus, and Alexei I. Ekimov from the United States, for their work in the discovery and synthesis of quantum dots, the members of the prize committee announced.
Before the official announcement of the award by the members of the committee, a statement was sent to the general press by mistake in which the names of the winners were revealed, and the members of the award committee evaded questions asked on the subject.
