Initial documentation of a car speeding away from left-wing protesters, who illegally blocked Ayalon roads, was published yesterday (Saturday) throughout social networks, and in a short time drew a wave of angry reactions, pointing an accusing finger at the government and especially at Netanyahu himself.
The head of the opposition, Yair Lapid, was quick to blame the government's "incitement" and wrote on his Twitter account: "Horrible photos from Tel Aviv, by a miracle this ends with only the injured. The terrible incitement comes from within the government. Let them take responsibility, let them stop the harassment. Sending reinforcement to the wounded and the Israeli patriots all over the country who are fighting for our democracy."
The chairman of the Labor Party, Merav Michaeli, also used harsh words: "The wretched driver who carried out the trampling attack against the protesters in Ayalon did not act in a vacuum. Behind him are inciting politicians from the coalition who shed the blood of the demonstrators. They are responsible for the trampling no less than the rapist."
And of course "Kaplan Force" - the organizers of the left-wing protest against the government - circulated a response to the stampede incident in Ayalon and wrote that "Netanyahu's incitement is seeping in and causing casualties. His poison machine has been working on turbo for the last few hours and is causing a stampede incident. The blood is on Netanyahu's hands."
This morning (Sunday - Israel) the police released the driver suspected of running over after it became clear that there was no malicious intent in his actions. apparently, it was human error, that he was 'pulled over' due to accidentally pressing the gas pedal and not the brake.
