The leader of the Labor Party and former Minister of Transportation, Merav Michaeli, responds to the current Minister of Transportation, Miri Regev's claims regarding the reasons for the delay in the construction of the Hawara Bypass Road. Michaeli addresses Regev's assertion that the previous government, in which Michaeli was a member, halted the construction works.

"Miri Regev is accustomed to lying and shifting her failures onto others," Michaeli wrote on her Twitter account. "So, for the sake of clarity – while I didn't allocate new budgets in Judea and Samaria, my tenure as Minister of Transportation never halted the construction of the Hawara Bypass Road."

At the beginning of today's government meeting (Sunday), the Minister of Transportation addressed the construction of the Hawara Bypass Road. This road is intended to prevent attacks like the deadly one that occurred on Saturday. Regev stated that the previous government was the one that delayed the construction. "The plan that I initiated for the Hawara Bypass Road two years ago was halted by the previous government. Therefore, from the moment we took office, we've accelerated the process on this matter."

"I hope that in the coming months we will have very good news regarding the Hawara Bypass Road. Not only in Hawara, but also in general for all the bypass roads in Judea and Samaria, in order to enable both the quality of life and the safety for the residents of Judea and Samaria."
