Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai recommended stopping the work on the spirit tribunes in the Golan Heights until after the Feast of the Sacrifice in order to appease the spirits, but Ben Gabir ordered otherwise and the work was resumed.

After a conversation between Itamar Ben Gvir and the Commissioner of Police, it was decided that the work on the tribunes in the Golan Heights would be resumed, despite the Commissioner's recommendations and the anger of the police in the field for fear of further escalation in the Druze protests.

As a reminder, this morning (Thursday) it was announced that work on the tribunes was stopped following the huge demonstrations and riots by the Druze residents in which several demonstrators were seriously injured in clashes with the security forces.

During the night, an emergency meeting of the heads of the Druze community was held in Kfar Yasif, where it was decided to send a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu demanding a freeze on the construction work of the wind turbines in the northern Golan Heights. In their words, they said that "We are aware of the explosive situation that currently prevails in the Druze communities, and we expect that the Israeli government will also show the necessary and required sensitivity."

"The heads of the community consider it appropriate to order an immediate freeze on the works and the withdrawal of the police forces from the area where the works are being carried out until after the end of the Druze community's Sacrifice Festival," it said. "At the same time as the suspension of the execution of the works, a joint committee of the heads of the Druze community, representatives of the community from the Golan Heights and representatives of the Israeli government will convene, which will sit on the bench continuously for the purpose of finding an agreed and feasible solution."

In conclusion, we noted that "these days are the most sacred days for the members of the Druze community, and it goes to the days of the Feast of the Sacrifice. We expect that the Israeli government will respond positively to this request and allow the members of the community to celebrate the holiday period in peace and tranquility."
