All sides negotiating a ceasefire in the north are feeling increasingly confident, as President Biden's administration is seeking to secure a deal that would ensure lasting peace in the north. These are its details, according to Channel 12 reporter Amit Segal.

In the first stage, the IDF will remain in the villages it has captured along the border at reduced strength as the Lebanese border clears out the "second line" of Hezbollah villages of weapons and threats. Hezbollah will withdraw entirely beyond the Litani River.

Then, the IDF will withdraw behind Israel's borders while being vigilant and prepared to quickly strike back against any violation of the ceasefire in Lebanon or in Syria.

Meanwhile, Russia will also get a piece of the action: in exchange for Russian companies in Syria being exempted from sanctions, it will guarantee that Assad's Syria will cease to be a rearmament and resupply route for Iran to bolster Hezbollah, its most powerful proxy.
