According to Israel National News sources, Gallant expressed to the families: "To me, a Jewish child murdered in the Gaza envelope on October 7th and a Druze child killed in the Golan Heights are the same—they are our children, and they have the right to live here."
He continued: "For years, we have talked about a shared destiny; now, I want us to have a shared life, where we work together, educate together, and play soccer like the children who played on the team in Kiryat Shmona. I am here to show that we stand by you—not only as families but as part of the entire people of Israel, and as a proud Druze community—united."
Regarding the anticipated Israeli response, Gallant stated: "We will do everything necessary to restore security and ensure that life returns to normal. Hezbollah will pay the price for this attack, and we will let our actions speak for themselves."
He added: "I want to convey that we, the defence establishment and the government, offer our condolences—both on my behalf and on behalf of all soldiers and commanders who are focused on their duties. The goal is to move beyond a shared fate to a shared life, ensuring a good and meaningful future for everyone, for you and for us all, everyone who lives in this country."
