Ashdod: Infant perishes after spending 2 hours in sweltering vehicle, developing heatstroke and later dying as a result, Israel national news reports.

7-month-old infant taken to hospital in critical condition after being left unresponsive in a hot vehicle for 2 hours. Physicians could not rescue him. A baby aged seven months passed away following being inadvertently left in a hot car for two hours in Ashdod on Thursday (today). The child was discovered in a critical state inside the car.

Magen David Adom (MDA) personnel responded to the call, provided medical treatment to the child, and transported him to Assuta Hospital, where he unfortunately died.

MDA EMT Matanel Ben David reported: "Upon our arrival at the residence, we observed the infant unresponsive with symptoms indicating heatstroke."

"He was said to have spent a prolonged period in a sealed vehicle before being brought into the house." He said that we provided him with medical care and brought him to the hospital when he was in critical condition.

In the past decade 40 children have been killed by being left in cars with just under 1000 hospitalized for the same reasons. Never leave a child unattended in a car and take all the necessary precautions to prevent heat stroke from occurring, especially in the hot summer months.
