With matters escalating in the north and the country being repeatedly hit with projectiles and drones, the IDF assess that in the event of a general war with Hezbollah, the Shi'ite terror organization will first seek to strike IDF assembly areas and equipment storehouses.
According to the report in Israel Hayom, Chief Infantry Officer, Lt.-Col. Matti Amar said that "our enemy in the north is not what it was eight or four months ago, it updates itself all the time. This is an unending learning contest. The side that learns and develops faster when the gong is hit will be more successful."
He added that "the reserve soldiers understand the event very well. They come after months of long service in the south and north. It's not like recruiting a battalion which wound encounter an exercise every two three years. The system is very well oiled. In the past, we needed to explain to people and imagine evacuating wounded in an exercise. Now they have done it in real conditions not long ago. They treat this with utmost seriousness."
