IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi spoke today (Thursday) with local government leaders in the north, discussing the IDF's plans for any settlement in the north and how it would deal with Hezbollah violations of agreements.

During the discussion, Halevi said that "nothing symbolizes victory more than a safe return of the residents, and we will take this path together. We are damaging the infrastructures which Hezbollah built from 2006."

He then said that "we need to prepare organized plans and ensure that it will be better here than what it was before the war."

Halevi then went into detail about future plans: "We have the right to defend ourselves, and in every political settlement if there is one, the IDF will have to enforce ceasefire violations."

He ended by noting that "throughout the whole war, the level of coordination and cooperation between the IDF and local authorities and cities are some of the best we have ever known."
