Israel-Gaza War, Polls

IDI Poll: Israeli public trusts IDF Chief of Staff, Defense Minister, Benny Gantz; only right somewhat trusts Netanyahu

The poll also showed Israeli Jews more supportive of waging war even without American input and without considering the suffering of Gazan civilians as a major factor.

A poll released by the Israel Democracy Institute today (Tuesday) and conducted in March 18-21 shows most Israelis give high marks to IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and Minister Benny Gantz. Meanwhile, only rightwing Israelis believe Prime Minister Netanyahu has done well in significant numbers.

The poll also shows that about half of Israeli Jews want Israel to wage war solely in accordance with its own leadership's judgment, while about forty percent believe war should be waged in coordination with the United States.

In addition, about eighty percent of Israeli Jews believe the question of Palestinian civilian suffering should either not matter at all in Israel's conduct of the war or should only matter somewhat.
