US President Joe Biden was asked last evening (Thursday) about his statement that there would be a ceasefire until Monday at the latest and said that after talks with leaders in the region he understood that this would be delayed.
"I'm talking to leaders in the region. Maybe it will take a little longer," he said as he left the White House.
In another conversation with reporters earlier this week, Biden said that "I hope that by the end of the weekend. The national security adviser told me that we are close, we are not done yet, but my hope is that by next Monday we will have a ceasefire."
