8 mortar warheads were seized during a raid by the Central District police and MGB fighters on an abandoned building in the Neve Yarak Arab neighbourhood in Lod just before the holiday

The raid was conducted as part of the "Emergency Containment" operation to thwart violent crime on Arab Street and the crime families established by the Police Commissioner.

During the operation, the police and soldiers conducted a targeted search in an abandoned building and discovered 8 mortar warheads on the spot. All of the items of the IDF were transferred to continue the extraction of evidence in the forensics laboratories of the Israel Police.

In another incident last week, a firing squad consisting of a father and his two sons fired at several locations in the city of Nazareth and were arrested at the end of a chase by North District police officers and Border Guard soldiers when one of the suspects ran away and hid under the table at a wedding event, five grenades, a gun and other findings were found in their possession.

In accordance with the request of the police, the arrest of the 2 suspects was extended at the Nazareth Magistrate's Court until 9-10/24. And the arrest of the other suspect (a minor) is still under investigation.
