Three residents of East Jerusalem who are ISIS operatives, were arrested by the Shin Bet and Jerusalem Central District Police, before they joined the ranks of the terrorist organization abroad.
After the arrest of the suspects was extended from time to time in court and their investigation was completed, it was announced today (Thursday) that the prosecutor's office is expected to file charges against the suspects in the coming days.
The investigation against the suspects, residents of Umm Tuba, has already begun recently, on suspicion of belonging to the terrorist organization the Islamic State (ISIS).
At the direction of the Shin Bet, detectives from the Jerusalem Central District Police and Oz station police officers, the three suspects - residents of Umm Tuba in East Jerusalem in their twenties - were arrested in their homes. During the search of their homes, a lot of cash, books and various materials of the Islamic State ideology were seized.
The investigation reveals that, according to the suspicion, the suspects recently pledged allegiance to ISIS and its murderous ideology. They consumed their contents, and made contact through social networks with ISIS operatives abroad, in order to join the fighting in the ranks of the organization wherever they were assigned abroad.
The suspects had already issued passports for this purpose and were expected to go abroad in the near future, but their plan was foiled.
