Biden has nothing left to lose

Biden Admin weighs dramatic shift on UN Israel policy

Similar to the controversial Resolution 2334 from the Obama era, the new measure is reportedly being drafted by the U.S. National Security Council. "I know such a resolution is brewing," said the Capitol Hill source.

The Biden administration is considering backing a concerning UN Security Council resolution. This would declare Israeli control of the West Bank and East Jerusalem illegal, according to a Capitol Hill source.

The move recalls Obama's final days in office, when he backed a similar anti-settlement resolution just after Trump's election. Many of Obama's former advisers now serve in Biden's outgoing administration, leading some to question the former president's influence on the decision.

While Israeli officials say they haven't been notified of such plans, they expect that a similar resolution may be coming.

The White House has not responded to requests for comment.
