A 50-year-old Chabad Hasid was brutally attacked last night (Wednesday) during an attempted robbery in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.
According to COLLIVE news site, the incident occurred around 7:20 PM when the victim was walking home from the subway station on President Street. Two teenagers wearing bandanas approached him and asked about his phone model. When the Hasidic man ignored them and continued walking, the assailants grabbed a stick and demanded he hand over the device. Before he could react, they began beating him violently until he managed to escape.
The Jewish community's security team immediately began reviewing security camera footage and notified local police. The victim was rushed to the emergency room suffering from severe pain.
This is far from the first time that Jews in New York have been subject to vicious attacks of antisemitism, and the incidences are becoming more ferwuent, which makes it even more concerning.
