Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, a well-known Jewish leader and author, was subjected to what he describes as a "terrifying" antisemitic attack while working in the lobby of Miami Beach's iconic Fontainebleau Hotel. The incident, which was captured on video and has been reported to both the FBI and local law enforcement, represents the latest in a disturbing surge of antisemitic incidents across the United States.

According to Rabbi Boteach's account, he was quietly working on his laptop, preparing a speech, when an individual began harassing him specifically for being Jewish. The attacker allegedly stalked and confronted the rabbi, making explicit threats of violence. The entire incident was recorded by both Rabbi Boteach and the hotel's security cameras.

"No Jewish individual should have to fear being assaulted or even God forbid murdered in a hotel lobby just for wearing a Yarmulke," said Rabbi Boteach, who has deep personal connections to Miami Beach, where his late mother lived. "America is becoming a cesspit of antisemitism."

The incident has gained significant attention across Jewish media and social platforms, highlighting growing concerns about the safety of visibly Jewish individuals in public spaces. Rabbi Boteach, despite the attack, remains defiant: "I will NEVER back down and I will NEVER hide my Jewishness. I am a Jew and I am honored to be part of my people."

This attack occurred during a documented concerning rise in antisemitic incidents across the United States, particularly following recent global events. For Rabbi Boteach, who regularly faces antisemitic harassment, this incident underscores the urgent need for increased security measures and awareness of growing antisemitism in American society.

"I sometimes wonder how long it will be before one of these regular attacks on me by these fanatical Jew-haters ends God forbid in deadly violence," Rabbi Boteach reflected, while maintaining his resolve to continue practicing his faith openly and proudly.
