Deputy Commander of Brigade 300 Killed in the North

Cleared for publication: The deputy commander of Brigade 300, Lt.-Col. Alim Abdullah ob"m, was killed yesterday (Monday) in an encounter with terrorists infiltrating Israel from Lebanon.

Cleared for publication: the deputy commander of Brigade 300, Lt.-Col. Alim Abdullah ob"m, was killed yesterday in an encounter with terrorists infiltrating Israeli territory from the Lebanese border.

Lt.-Col. Abdullah, a resident of Yanuh-Jat, was 40 years old.

As reported yesterday, a number of terrorists were identified crossing into Israeli territory from Lebanon. IDF soldiers and an attack helicopter immediately reached the identified location and exchanged fire with them, during which two were killed. During the exchange, one of the terrorists fled back into Lebanese territory. The event is over and there is no fear of another security incident.

According to the IDF's statement, IDF aircraft struck three Hezbollah military positions. These include two observational positions and one position serving the organization's forces in an emergency. Artillery fire was also directed towards Hezbollah by IDF forces.

During the exchange of fire, a number of soldiers were wounded and evacuated to hospitals for medical treatment.
