Oberlin College in Ohio has dismissed Mohammad Jafar Mahallati, a former Iranian regime official and religion professor, after a three-year campaign by Iranian Americans. They were outraged by his role in covering up the 1988 mass murder of at least 5,000 Iranian political prisoners.
Andrea Simakis, a spokeswoman for Oberlin's administration, told Fox News Digital that "Professor Mahallati was placed on indefinite administrative leave on November 28."
Last month, Fox News Digital reported that Mahallati, Iran's former U.N. ambassador, was being investigated by the U.S. Department of Education Office of Civil Rights for allegedly subjecting Jewish students to harassment and defending the terrorist organization Hamas.
Shortly after, the college removed Mahallati's profile and a fact sheet that reportedly downplayed his alleged crimes, antisemitism, and genocidal rhetoric against Iran's Baha'i community.
