Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, in a political security review to the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, stated that Israel will soon evaluate its approach to tackling the issue of a nuclear Iran with the incoming U.S. administration.

During his review, Netanyahu dealt with all the war arenas – Lebanon, Gaza, the West Bank, Iraq, Syria and Yemen, all of which are led by the head of the axis of evil – Iran. He discussed the three main components that Iran is using to destroy the State of Israel – the axis, its missiles, and its nuclear program.

At the beginning of the discussion, the prime minister said that although the campaign is being waged on seven fronts, it has one source – Iran. He added that Iran's goal is the destruction of the State of Israel, based on three components: the axis, the missiles and the nuclear program they are working to achieve. In his review, the Prime Minister elaborated on what has been done about each of these three components.

Regarding the first component, the axis, which consists of terrorist organizations, Netanyahu said that with regard to Hamas, progress is being made in eliminating its military capability, but only partial progress in eliminating its governmental capability.

Regarding Hezbollah, he said that Israel's basic conditions for an arrangement were distancing the terrorist organization from the border, preserving Israel's freedom of action, and closing the oxygen pipeline through the Syrian border to prevent future armament.

Regarding the missiles, which are the second component of Iran's destruction plan, the Prime Minister described the decision-making process in Israel's response to the two missile attacks from Iran and elaborated on the targets attacked. Netanyahu clarified that the decision not to attack certain targets did not stem from an American ultimatum, but from a decision we made ourselves.

Netanyahu also referred to the third component – preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, did not elaborate, but added that our ability to act against these three threats will be examined in the near future together with the incoming administration in Washington.
