Iran has reportedly resumed testing to produce nuclear bomb detonators, according to a report by Iran International.
The news site cited three independent sources within Iran who revealed that the Iranian government is advancing its nuclear weapons program by resuming tests aimed at producing detonators for nuclear bombs.
As part of this effort, Iran is restructuring its Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research (SPND). Previously a subsidiary of the Iranian Defense Ministry, the SPND has now become an independent entity with financial autonomy, exempt from oversight by the National Audit Office.
Iran International highlighted that this change "essentially allows it to operate without accountability for its budget." The organization will now be governed by a statute issued directly by Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
The report also noted that Iran is actively developing missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads and is pursuing high-level uranium enrichment as part of its broader nuclear ambitions.
