Major General Israel Ziv spoke with Anath Davidov and Udi Segal on Radio 103FM, sharing his insights on the Yemeni arena.
"The Houthis are not exactly Hezbollah," Ziv began. "Their distance and capabilities are fundamentally different. On one hand, we cannot underestimate them because they possess formidable capabilities. We know how to handle most of the regional threats, but that's not the problem. The problem is that we are entering into a fire zone.
Israel Ziv, formal Army General and IDF chief of operations comments on the recent attack on Iran.
"We are entering into a complex situation; the head of Yemen sits behind, and I think he is quite satisfied with that. It's impossible to defeat the Houthis."
He continues, "I believe that from the outset, we have underestimated them. This body has been fighting for years from caves. The blockade at the port really hurts them, but they have nothing to lose. It hasn't happened. It just brought this front line closer to them in an attempt to affect their freedom of navigation."
"If you want to influence the Houthis, it's not through direct attacks, but through Iran."
